The church has received a wonderful letter of thanks from a member of the Gambell Presbyterian church on the north Bering Sea in Alaska, a subsistence village of 400 Siberian Eskimos. The congregation is building a new church after decades of brutal arctic winters have taken their toll on the church. The Session voted to send the congregation $1,000 from our Mission budget. "Thank you for your prayers and partnership in the new church building in Gambell. We are completing final engineering plans and seeking the necessary permits. May God continue to bless you richly." The church is in the Presbytery of the Yukon. The Session has also sent in October an additional $500 to the Hopital Ste. Croix in Haiti, which has been visited a number of times by Rev. Ruth Boling and has a clinic for women suffering from Lymphatic Filariasis. An initial $500 was sent in January. Also, $525 has been sent to the Queens Federation of Churches. |
