Presbyterian Disaster Assistance sent a personal letter thanking the church for our financial assistance of $1,195 this year to survivors of disasters, civil conflict and violence.

The Presbyterian Conference Association sent a letter expressing "our warmest thanks for your recent donation of $3,000 designated for the Nunemaker Renovation Project" and making us part of the "Stepping Stone Society for the Year 2000." It was signed by director Rev. Peter D. Surgenor.

The Suffern Presbyterian Church, which was destroyed by an arsonist in November, sent a letter to Eulalia Swain and the congregation thanking us for the gift of $500.

"We have been blessed by the phone calls, cards, notes and love offerings that have been sent to our church. Despite what could have been a tragic outcome, God has turned it for good. Our pastors have been able to respond to many with the gospel. Our congregation has responded with grace and forgiveness to the arsonist and his family. We feel more a part of the community. The response from other believers has been uplifting. Thank you for your outreach to us. We are so grateful. May God multiply his blessings to you"

Habitat for Humanity's New York chapter sent a letter of thanks for the church's $1,000 contribution. "We are grateful for the support of the First Presbyterian Church of Forest Hills. Your leadership and support of the Forest Hills Interfaith dialogue effort (to build a house in Queens) has enabled the Hill family to become new homeowners."
