Mission treasurer Leon Collier has received a warm letter of thanks from Rev. Peter Surgenor in Holmes, NY, saying in part: “On behalf of the Funding and Development Committee of the Board of Directors, we want to express our warmest thanks for your recent donation which was received on June 30, 2008 to the Holmes Presbyterian Camp and Conference Center’s major repair and programming Stewards/Angels for the year 2008. Your generous support is an essential part of keeping the Holmes Presbyterian Camp and Conference Center such a unique and life-changing place – ‘there’s no place like Holmes.’”

In addition, a donation has been sent to Louisville for Shared Mission Support for Directed Mission, including support for youth ministry, lay leaders support, and racial ethnic ministries, as well as extra commitment opportunities for HIV/AIDS education and awareness, and for the Queens Federation of Churches.

Approximately half of what the church will send out for the year as budgeted in mission has now been sent out, including the donation for One Great Hour of Sharing. These gifts to mission beyond our church are part of our commitment as outlined in the Annual Report as approved by the Session to the work of the wider church for the cause of Christ. They are made possible by pledges and gifts to mission/benevolence in your regular envelope giving.
