Mission treasurer Ian Amritt reports that the church recently received thank-you letters from several church groups to which we have contributed. The Presbyterian office of Theological Education thanked us for the extra commitment gift for our church seminaries. Habitat for Humanity thanked us for the gift for their work in New York and said they are currently in Brooklyn and the Bronx and preparing plans for more work in Queens and Manhattan . (Our Habitat representative on the deacons is Larry Hanau and he keeps track of things). The Queens Federation of Churches thanked our church for contributions for their food for the hungry program.

We also contribute food once a month to their food pantry in Jamaica . (The food is taken by elder Steven Chen to Richmond Hill each month.) Queens Federation director Skip L'Heureux wrote “please convey our gratitude to the members of your congregation for their helpful support.” The Federation also sent us a letter to thank us for our support for their work, in addition to the food for the hungry money.

A recent letter was also received from Union Seminary (VA) and the Presbyterian School of Christian Education for our gift for their “Burning Bush” youth ministry through the denomination's extra commitment program.
