The Fire Department offers free hands-only CPR classes. The goal of these classes is to equip New Yorkers with the basic skills needed to take action in the event of a cardiac arrest emergency. Enter through 112th Street.

Why Join
Early CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) have been shown to dramatically increase the chance of survival in victims who experience sudden cardiac arrest.Â
What You'll Learn
Hands-Only CPR involves pressing on a cardiac arrest victim’s chest without performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Please note: this program does not offer CPR certification. Program participants are provided with the followingfollowing:
- Skill demonstrations and hands-on practice for performing hands-only CPR
- Basic instruction on how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
- Additional information for identifying a person in need of CPR and other resources
