With all the dramatic firing and slashing in Washington, it’s time to remember how government affects everything we do and to rethink what the actual purpose of government is. In this 4-part series, Michael Krasner will guide us as we reset our horizons on why we have a government in the first place, and why democracy (of, by, and for the people) is worth fighting for. The Preamble to our Constitution states that government is meant to “provide for the common defense and promote the general welfare.” Time to get back to basics to rescue our democracy from the billionaires who think they can take it all.
